Little Lyman

Well, it’s true. We are having a baby! I even have a little tummy to prove it now. I am about 20 weeks along, and at our last appointment we got to see the little stinker’s tinker! So I no longer have to refer to him as an “it.” Today we had our 20 week ultrasound where the doctor checked Baby Lyman's anatomy and made sure everything looked ok. He said that the little guy looked great!

Here is the little alien at about 13 weeks staring at us.

This is from our ultrasound today.  You can see the little heart in his chest (black splotch) and the placenta in the background.

I know that I have absolutely no idea what it’s going to be like to have a newborn and that it will be really, REALLY hard, but I have never been more excited for something in my life. I’m going to be a mom! Even though it will be hard, I think the good times and happiness our little guy is going to bring us will outweigh the dirty diapers and sleepless nights. In the meantime, we are enjoying our sleep-in Saturdays and Sunday naps before he gets here. My free time consists of watching movies with Tom, eating, reading about baby stuff, and yeah, that’s it. More reading. More eating. I’m not one of those pregnant ladies that can go out and run 5 miles, but I have been trying to walk most days and have been somewhat successful. Once we move into our new apartment I’m hoping I can swim in the lap pool some.

Speaking of our new place, I’m not looking forward to moving our stuff but I can’t wait to have the extra space and sunshine. I love where we are living now and will miss the Riad family (our landlords) because they are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. But it will be nice to have natural light again and have a few big closets. I’m also trying to decide whether or not to paint the baby’s room..hmm..and if I do then what color.  Probably blue.

I'm already so in love with my little boy!!
