Shenandoah National Park, Summer & Fall

We went to Shenandoah National Park during Labor Day weekend and then again last weekend to see the leaves. It's always so refreshing to get out of the city and out into nature. It only takes about 30-45min. of driving from where we live to get out into the country. I LOVE this part of Virginia and keep telling Tom we just need to move out here! It's so gorgeous. I'm all country at heart and being in the city for too long gets me antsy.

Tom was too tall so I took over as pack mule.

Here's some from last weekend. First stop was the visitor's center to play in the leaves and run around.

So sweet. He hardly ever holds our hands so I was thrilled to capture a few shots.

This little forest area was so so pretty. There were already tons of people parked and stopped there so I just got some drive by shots.

This was the only overlook we stopped at. It was really windy!

Most of the leaves shots I got were from the car since we didn't want to stop too many times. They still turned out pretty!

We made one last stop in the park to let Gray run off his energy. We wore him out and he slept the whole way home.

He loved this.

On our way back I found a "shortcut"(we ended up on a dirt road - last time Tom trusts my shortcuts). It took us through some backcountry roads, though, with beautiful scenery. I could live here for sure. I think it's called Rappahannock County.

Cox Farms

We took Grayson to his first fall festival at Cox Farms last weekend. I was pretty excited to dress him up in his denim shirt.  The weather was perfect and it felt so nice to be outside enjoying the sunshine, apple cider donuts, slides, and animals. They had a Kiddie Zone where we spent most our time. His favorite thing was the wooden train but all the big kids kept running him over, so we couldn't play on it too long. He was also really into the corn pit. I got LOTS of pictures!

They had SO many slides there. There were some pretty big ones but we only took Grayson down the smaller ones. He loves slides and smiled going down for the most part.

Of course we had to get a family photo by the sign and tractor. My mom joined us for a little bit, too.

I don't have any pictures of the animals, but just for the record Grayson didn't really care about the rabbits, pigs or cows, loved the ducks, and was talking to the goats. Right before we left we picked out some pumpkins to take home, and then I remembered that I couldn't leave without trying to get some cute pumpkin/hay/baby pictures in. Of course he wasn't very into it.

We'll definitely be heading back next year!
