Yes, we drove the 12-13 hours down to Florida. And had so much fun!! I'll admit I was really nervous that Grayson was just going to scream the whole way down and back, but he was a champ and did awesome in his car seat. It took a lot of stops, snacks, playing with stickers, watching Little Baby Bum on dad's phone, and laughing at mom dancing to Backstreet Boys. But we did it!

We made it all the way to Savannah, GA the first day and spent the night. The next morning we had some time to go into the historic district and walk around. First we went to Forsyth Park. The huge oak(?) trees were gorgeous and everything was so green. Grayson loved playing on the swings, and then we went and took some pictures by the old iron fountain.

After the park we went down by the river. We planned to walk around but Grayson was having fun playing on the steps, so we let him run a little bit of energy out until lunch time. For lunch we ate at Lady & Sons, Paula Deen's restaurant, full of delicious Southern comfort food. I would go back there in a heartbeat!

After lunch we left Savannah and drove to visit Tom's friend Jeremy in Bunnell, FL. I loved it there. It was green and out in the country with lots of land to play on, and Grayson got to jump on the trampoline and go see the puppies out back. We had lots of fun catching up with Jeremy and his family.
After eating dinner and saying goodbye, we drove the rest of the way to Melbourne and checked into our hotel room. More about Melbourne in the next post!
