Road Trippin - Florida

We spent three days in the Melbourne area. Our main reason for going was to see a couple Nats spring training games, but we found a few other fun things to do, too. We only planned about one big thing a day, then played the rest by ear. I wasn't sure how much we'd actually be able to fit in each day with a toddler, and it turns out we planned just enough to not feel overwhelmed or stressed. And we'd always go back to the hotel room for his naps each day, which kept him from getting too cranky and allowed us some down time to relax, too. :) Here is our trip in pictures!

Day 1 - The Wetlands and The Beach
There was a wetlands preserve near Melbourne that was free to drive through. It was really calm and beautiful with lots of pretty birds.
If you look closely you can see a gator

Another gator

The beach!!

He loved walking down the boardwalk

The water was freezing so we only put our feet in

He hated walking on the sand, put loved playing in it.

Day 2 - The Zoo and Nats game

He loved the petting zoo. There were alpacas, goats, and a huge tortoise.

Telling me all about the "da's"
He thought it was something to climb on

Giraffes!

Biting the cage. He probably belonged in the cage.

Nats nats nats!!

He was so good and sat through the whole game.

Day 3 - Gators, jungle park, and second Nats game

Gators at the Bass Pro Shop

Mom and Dad, please can I have a four wheeler?
Our fearless leader

Grayson loved walking on the boardwalk at this park we found in the middle of Melbourne.

A stranger walked by, but he was safe squashed into Tom's legs

He focuses on the littlest details. He loved pulling apart the little twigs on the ground

The end!
