President's day at George's house

In honor of the father of our country, we decided to visit his estate on President's day this year. And also because it's free on President's day :) Since Tom and I have both been to Mount Vernon before we spent most of the time walking along the grounds and by the river. George Washington staked out some prime real estate in his day! His backyard view is one of my favorite things out here in DC. It was so peaceful out there sitting on his back porch on the rocking chairs and enjoying the fresh air. It made me realize how much I love being out in nature away from all the hustle and bustle. I kinda wished George himself was sitting there next to me so we could have a nice little conversation. He's one of my heroes and I've always wondered what he was really like in person. Maybe I'll finally get to meet him someday.
