We're here

We finally made it to WASHINGTON, DC.  We got here at 11am on Friday after a long red-eye flight and a quick shuttle ride from the airport.  Friday was spent unpacking our five suitcases and exploring the area.  We hit the sack around 6:30 that evening and didn't roll out of bed until around 10 the next  morning. It was an amazing 15 1/2 hours.  Saturday we walked around the Mall and some other areas in beautiful sixty something degree weather.

Sunday we rode the Metro to church and attended fast and testimony meeting. We also stayed after for the ward's monthly Munch and Mingle and met some new people.  A few things I've already learned from my first weekend is to NOT stand on the left side of the escalators to the Metro (the left side is for walking, right is standing), you can cross the street kind of whenever you want, organic food doesn't always taste better, I need a 72 hour kit, and I'm loving every minute of being here!

  1. Chantelle, I'm so glad you all are enjoying Wash. D.C.! I love the picture of you sitting in front of the Capitol. I'm really envious of you getting to live there! There are so many interesting things to do there, and walking around will definitely keep you both "in shape"! Take care, and I'll check out your blog from time to time. ---Love, Granny
