The Newseum

Last week we went to one of the newest museums in DC, which happens to be called the Newseum. It's not called this because it's "new", but because it is all about the news and media.  Like most of the museums out here, there was A LOT to see.  As an almost-journalism-major, I really liked this museum.  My two favorite exhibits were the Pulitzer Prize photo gallery and the photos U.S. Presidents and their dogs, referred to as First Dogs.  President Bush's springer spaniels were by far the cutest. Some other things we saw:

Newspapers from early history all the way until now
Display on journalists during wars
A news studio
Old news TV broadcasts.  I especially liked the ones with JFK.
September 11 exhibit
Reel of SNL skits relating to the news and media
A 4D movie about the history of journalism in the U.S. (not sure why it was 4D..)
FBI and the media exhibit which was Tom's favorite
Sports photos taken by....someone famous that's really good at taking sports photos
And lots of other things.
A view of Pennsylvania Avenue at the top of the museum

There was also an awesome view of The Capitol, with the Canadian embassy flags flying next to it :)

This was a radio antennae from the top of one of the World Trade Center towers
