Dallas zoo

The weather has been amazing here this week, and it got up to the 70s this weekend! Since Grayson is obsessed with animals I knew this called for a zoo trip. Especially because it's only $5 a person in the winter, and kids 3 and under are free. Score! Everyone else in the DFW area had the exact same idea. It was really packed getting in and finding a park, but once we walked in it wasn't too bad. Gray loved the giraffes, elephants, and farm animals. We watched the chimps literally go ape nuts and tried feeding some giraffes (no luck). Grayson got to chase the goats around, and "pet" them. I put "pet" in quotes because it was a little more like smacking them haha. Sadly the otters were nowhere to be seen (my all time favorite zoo animal). And Natalie was a little angel the whole time just chilling in the stroller and then napping.

Watching the giraffes...while picking his nose

Gray loved the little animal statues they had throughout the zoo.

Chillin with mama while the boys were watching the gorillas.

Me and two little monkeys :)

Best picture of the day.

He sure loves his "ee ee"

First week in the Big D

We're Texans now! I feel like I'm making my way back to my roots :) Tom started his new job in Dallas last week and so far so good with everything. The apartment is good. The kitchen is kind of tiny but going from one bathroom to two has been amazing. It's so nice to leave all the kids' bath crap in the tub and not have to clean it all up so we can shower.

We're only 6 miles from downtown which is great for Tom's commute! It's only about 15 or 20 min to drive during rush hour, but since parking is expensive he's started taking the train. That's what we're used to anyways coming from DC area, and that leaves me the car so it works out great. While he's been at work I've been exploring the area with the kids, mostly going to parks and going on walks by the ponds in our complex.

First time trying out the double stroller. They love it.

Watching the ducks at the ponds.
Found a cool park just a mile or two away.

I've never seen these until we moved out here. All the parks I've been to so far have them. Gray loved it!

Just woke up face.

Haha poor Gray sharing a girlie blanket.

We are close to everything out here. It kind of reminds me of where we lived in Tysons. And most importantly I've got a Trader Joes just 10 min. away. Very important. I also passed a Taco Cabana on my way to take Nat to the doctor and almost flipped a U right then and there. The tortillas were calling to me! (We've already eaten there twice)

Nat got her first tooth a few days after we arrived and the second one just popped through. She is such a happy and cute baby. Even through her teething she's been smiling. She loves to screech at the top of her lungs now, too.

First tooth
4 month doctor's visit. She was above 95th percentile for weight. no surprise there.

I'm trying to get Gray psyched about the potty so we can start all that fun stuff sometime this year. He is super sweet with Nat and loves to hug her, lay on her, and make her laugh. His favorite thing to do right now is count everything.

Has to have Nat right next to him.

Loves his train set.

Also loves anything to do with animals.

Telling me about the "tow" (cow) and "pee" (pig)

Poor Nat. She gets lots of rough lovin from him.

Saw a man walk by as I was trying to take his picture. He has inborn stranger danger.

Tom has been working hard and longer hours. I've been trying to finish my current work contract and my classes start this week. By the time he gets home, we eat dinner, bathe the kids and get them to bed we're pretty pooped! It'll be a busy next few months.

Christmas 2015

We spent Christmas in Phoenix with Tom's family. We stayed with Addie and Jamey and got to play with their two boys Gavin and Ezra. I'm so happy my kids have cousins their age!

The weather was awesome and we were all spoiled on Christmas morning, mostly by Peg and Jeff :) We had fun just hanging out and catching up. I wish we lived closer so we could see each other more than once a year! Here's some pictures from the trip.

She did not like the car ride one bit.

Waiting to see cousins.

Grayson fell in love with Gavin's donkey. He called it a cow.

Cousins, two days apart.

These two had fun playing.

Cute boy, so happy just chilling on his tummy.

Best picture I got of the two of them in Christmas pjs.

He was so happy to get his toy lion and teddy grahams.

haha Gavin.

Grandma reading them a story.

Nat after her blowout all over he pjs.

Coolest present ever!

I love her smiles.

Passed out.

Yay, Gray let his Aunt Addie hold him!
