They're married!

Yes, it is official. Finally!! Yaaayy! I am SO happy for Peggy and Jeff.  The wedding was perfect. Tom walked his beautiful mother down the aisle and she got hitched to Jeff.  Then we all stuffed our faces.  People gave toasts.  They cut the cake. Everyone sat around, talked, and enjoyed each other's company.

And they lived happily ever after.

No longer a sugar momma

Tom started his new job this week at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). It's kind of like a huge HR department for the whole federal government.  They deal with hiring, pay scales, benefits, retirement, run USAJOBS, do background checks and a whole lot more.  He is all official with his "Management Analyst" title, and I have no idea what he does.  I don't think he really knows everything he'll be doing yet, but he'll know soon enough. And the OPM happens to be right next to his campus. Score! I'm really proud of him for getting this job.  He has been very diligent and patient in job hunting these last few months, and it has all paid off.  We rode our bikes together to the Metro stop and rode the train into work together the last couple days and I know its cheesy but I thought we were so cute.  Two little western kids trying to pose as street smart city slickers.  I think we're pulling it off.  Sorry there's no pictures to prove how legit we look. You'll just have to take my word for it.

My spare time

My biggest concern when I graduated (besides finding a job) was what in the world I was going to do with all my "spare time" after work each day. What I imagined: coming home and doing crafts for our apartment, cooking 5 course meals, studying for the GRE, and learning to speak Spanish.  Reality: Come home and think about working out, pull out my computer instead to apply for jobs, and then put my computer down before I even start and spend all night watching 24.  I am completely addicted.  You see, I never watched TV growing up because I didn't have time and didn't really want to.  So now that we have Netflix there is a whole new world out there for me.  There will be many more nights with Jack Bauer.  Season Two, here we come!!

If you don't get the title, then you don't know Brian Regan.  Who we happened to see LIVE last weekend!! What a great day.  We started out going to Eastern Market, one of the biggest and oldest outdoor markets in DC.  I bought some peaches and we looked at all kinds of fresh fruit, veggies, meats, and everything you'd think you could find at a flea market. But the coolest thing we found was an old bookstore around the corner. There were stacks and stacks of books EVERYWHERE piled to the ceiling on every topic you could think of! It was like a perfect little wormhole for little book worms.

Next we walked to We The Pizza, a yummy pizza place I discovered with some work buddies, and we stuffed our faces with pizza and wings.

After sitting in a food coma for awhile we walked around the mall, looked at the sculpture garden, and did some window shopping.  Soon though, everything started closing.  Even though it was only like 7:00. So we still had an hour or two to kill until the Brian Regan show.  I wanted some chocolate ice cream, or just something chocolate in general. Really bad. Not much to ask, right? So we go to the food court to get some ice cream. CLOSED. Next we try the CVS to get a candy bar. CLOSED. Wait a second, I thought CVS was open 24 hours? Not in downtown DC.  We discovered our new pet peeve out here is that everything closes so dang early! Don't worry though, the happy ending is that we found a frozen yogurt place where I satisfied my craving. Then we sat and enjoyed a hilarious hour and a half of Mr. Regan in the gorgeous Warner Theater.  It was a wonderful day.

Thanks to everyone that came and supported me at my graduation!  I received my BS in Psychology, and both commencement and convocation took place in the Marriott Center, one of my favorite places on BYU campus. It's still weird to think I'm done and sometimes I don't know what to do with myself now that I don't have school.  My plan for now is to work for the next year, and then go back to graduate school once Tom is done. (Who is doing awesome in his accounting classes, by the way)

Where did April go?

This post won't be long, but I have to write SOMETHING so people know I'm still alive. So here I am. Alive and well! These past few weeks I've been a little busy working at the Bar 10 Ranch, graduating college, going to family reunions, driving a moving truck across the country, and unpacking (ugh!) I want to give a HUGE shoutout to Peggy, Aunt Lynne and Grandma!! I would not be safely in Washington DC with all of my stuff in my nice cozy apartment without the help of these amazing women. Yes, we drove for 18 hours straight one day, drove through snowstorms, 50mph winds, pouring rain, Washington DC rush hour traffic, all so I could get home to my handsome husband.  Thank you for your help and I love you guys!!
