Great Falls Park

We've been to Great Falls a couple times this summer. Here's a few pictures from when we went in August.

This owl stared at us for so long

Playing outside

Grayson loves playing outside more than anything right now. The weather today was perfect so I took him outside and snapped a few quick pics with my Canon. It lasted about 5 min. until he bonked his head. He is sure keeping us on our toes lately.

My favorite

Ok he looks way too grown up here!

Our family history

The past while I've been thinking about ways to keep our family's history. I'm glad I started this blog and am going to try to keep it up to date with pictures, kind of like a photo journal of the Lyman family.

Feeling happy

Grayson found his new favorite toy. It was a rattle Tom had when he was a baby. I've just been having a really good day with this little boy and needed to write it down somewhere so I don't forget. Love my life, love my fam :)

Spring Break

This was my first time having spring break since high school. To be honest it really hasn't been all that different from the last few weeks, but it has been nice to not worry about classwork for a week and there was even some warm spring weather! (then it went away, but we won't talk about that.) Here's what we did each day.

Monday
Visited Grandma Harrison in Occoquan. It was supposed to be warm and sunny, and it did eventually get sunny, but still felt a little nippy out. We took Grayson out in the stroller and he mostly slept while we walked around town and had lunch at the Secret Garden Cafe. We also visited the bakery which had some AMAZING looking foods. Somehow I left without any sweets in tow, but I planned to go back on Saturday to get a few things.

Tuesday
The weather was phenomenal! And I'm really loving the longer days. Grayson and I went for a long walk in the Ergo baby carrier (he napped, I walked) and then we played on the swings and slide right behind our apartment. He loves being outside! It was his first time on the swings, and he loved them too.

Wednesday
Mr. fussypants wasn't having the best morning so I took him for another long walk, this time in the stroller. Later that night Tom and Grayson had a man's night while I went to the Relief Society birthday party and had some Cafe Rio and cake. Mmmm.

This outfit was too small but I wanted him to at least wear it once. So we put it on long enough for pictures.

Thursday
Somehow the weather decided to go from 70 degrees on Wednesday to a high of 30 degrees. Um yeah. With the wind howling like it was I'm sure it felt much colder. But I don't really know because I didn't step foot outside :) Poor Grayson had been so used to going for walks that I had to resort to pushing him around the apartment in our little umbrella stroller. He loved it! He also got some good play time in the jumper and some good nap/snuggle time with me in the rocking chair.

Friday
Went for another walk. The missionaries came over in the evening and taught us a lesson on the Plan of Salvation. Had a relaxing night in.

Saturday
We all went to Occoquan again. Tom tried out the Ergo baby carrier for the first time and we went to the Bakery. I bought some homemade salsa and a piece of pie (I normally don't like pie that much, but this was the  BEST. PIE. EVER. And Michelle Obama went there to buy their pie so of course I had to try some). Tom got a gigantic peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip M&M cookie and a piece of Texas sheet cake. Not your typical Texas sheet cake. We also walked by the river and looked at the ducks. Then we had pizza and played games at my mom's with her, Clark, his daughter Leigh and their friend Richard.

Now Spring Break is over and it's snowing outside :( Spring can't come soon enough. Here's a picture of Gray in his Sunday best so this doesn't have to end on a sad note.
